James "Rhodey" Rhodes, known as War Machine, is a key character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). A close friend and confidant of Tony Stark, Rhodey is a highly decorated officer in the U.S. Air Force.
Initially appearing as Colonel James Rhodes in Iron Man (2008), he later takes on the War Machine armor in Iron Man 2 (2010). However, the character receives the War Machine Mk II designation starting in Iron Man 3 (2013), reflecting upgrades and modifications to his suit of armor.
